Summer League2

Ssc Racers are very closely matched to our Aces team, they are a three man team with Clive Mitchell their strongest player.Clive has recently moved up from Oxford and soon found his feet in the league, last years beaten finalist in the men’s singles and representing the town veterans as well as playing in the Doncaster league. Clive is also the club’s Chairman.
Phil Dixon is Racers second player, Phil is from Gainsborough and plays in the Gainsborough and Scunthorpe leagues and is another with over 30 years experience.
Racers team captain is yet another very experienced player Mick Tindall who travels from Market Rasen to play his matches, Mick also plays in several leagues.

Our final Div 1 team is SSc Traders of could be called team Barnes as this team consists of brothers Steve and Paul Barnes and Steve’s son Sam.
Steve is yet another very experienced player who has been in his time Scunthorpe men's singles and doubles champion as well as county player.
Paul has played on and off for around 30 years (more off than on!!), but represented the county at junior level.
Sam is following in his family footsteps following his granddad (Col Barnes) and uncles Gary and Andy Barnes who have all played table tennis in the league over the years.

SSC Juniors at the moment represent the future of the club and table tennis in the area, they are led by Paul Rowson’s son Liam who is having a great season after coming up from the division below now tops the averages for this division, Liam represents the club in the national league and this year made his debut for the county.
Juniors second member is Sam Mason who also won promotion last season, the club can take a lot of the credit for Sam’s presence in the league, as he started out when the club night was only on a Friday and from there have been instrumental in his successes so far, Sam has played for the town and played for the club.
Callum Driver makes Juniors 3rd player, Callum’s story is very similar to his team mates starting out on a Friday night then going on to play in the league representing the town and club in the process.

Our 3rd team in this very competitive division are SSC Harriers who are led by Martin Heywood who is another who has a great deal of experience playing many years in the league.
Ted Cooper is a very experianced defender who in the past used to play with pete skerratt makes Harriers second player.
George Foster makes Harriers 3rd player, also a player for many years as we as snooker player.
appologies for the rather old photo this will be put right asap.

SSC Angels are the 1st of our div 3 teams consisting of husband and wife combination of Sue and John Mumby .
Sue has played many years and her help in taking the club to where it is today should not be underestimated.
John is having a good season both John and Sue are also keen tennis players and tend to play tennis in the summer and table tennis in the winter.
Steven Welch is angels 3rd player
Tony Robinson makes up Angels forth player, tony is another who has come back into the game mainly due to the efforts put in by the club.

SSC Noname are yet another team who are here as a direct result of the efforts of our club, all these players used to come once a week while the club was based at West Common Soprts Hall.
Bradley Wraith leads the way with a very satisfactory first season.
Ryan Downie also making his debut this season has shown signs of promise.
Kent Stothard yet again making his debut also showing signs of promise, all three of these players have barely been playing the game 1 year and have done remarkably well to compete with some of the ‘seasoned’ players in this division.

Our final team is another which can be directly credited to the efforts of this club.
The are led by Harry Altoft the most experienced player of the group with one years extra experience.
Ryan Mitchell is Eagles second player showing great improvement from the beginning of the season.
Marc Dibdin another playing his first season has shown massive improvement since the season has gone on.
Jacob Mann completes Eagles Quartet another who has improved greatly since the beginning of the season.
This team is by far the youngest of all playing in the league and although results have not gone their way they have all competed with Great Spirit and although they may not think it themselves they have all improved greatly and next year will see their efforts rewarded.
